The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalene is a highly stable, water-free solution containing 1% pure Retinol to help reduce the appearances  fine lines, sun damage and signs of ageing.

Retinol is a form of vitamin A that has been proven to minimise fine lines, encourage cell turnover and minimise dark spots to reveal a healthier more youthful looking skin.

If you have not used a Retinol before we recommend starting with The Ordinary Retinol 0.2% in Squalene then step up to The Ordinary Retinol 0.5% in Squalene.

When pregnant or breastfeeding, it is recommended to avoid any skincare products containing retinoids such as formulations with Retinoid or Retinol.

Pleasantly Surprised

I used this serum for the first time last night with the Hydrating Moisturiser cream from The Ordinary range. I did use the 1% because my skin is acclimatised to retinols and I could see the difference in my skin this morning for example, softness, hydrated, clear and luminous. I do currently have a break out and the serum appears to have reduced the redness and calmed the skin, I also noticed an improvement with the wrinkle depth in general. I did not find the product to be oily but perhaps this is because I have mature, dry skin. I am looking forward to reassessing the results at four to eight weeks of use. The thing to remember about this serum is to keep it in the fridge after opening and to return it after each use.

Family use of Retinol A

Its an oily product so definately for evening. Skin overall has improved with its use and I have seen a signficant difference in acne for my daughter when used in combination with the zinc. My son hates all products on his face - is struggling to use it but when he did consistently his acne improved immediately
